Optician Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
- Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their needs and style
- Placing orders with our off-site lab, and performing quality checks on eyeglass jobs
- Take precise optical measurements (PDs, seg heights, etc.)
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and pricing
- Process and track optical lab orders
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and fittings
- Maintain frame inventory and merchandising
- Verify vision insurance and handle payments
• Perform basic pre‑testing (visual acuity, autorefraction, tonometry if trained)
• Gather patient history and prepare exam rooms
• Assist with diagnostic imaging (OCT, Optos)
• Support the clinical team with patient flow and exam readiness
What We’re Looking For
• Optician experience required
• ABO certification preferred
• Interest in learning ophthalmic technician skills (training provided)
• EHR experience is a plus
• Strong communication, professionalism, and patient‑care skills
Schedule & Compensation
• Part-time: 2–3 weekdays per week
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
