Responsibilities:

  • Performs preliminary patient screening for optometrist including, but not limited to obtaining ocular and medical history, visual acuity measuring, intraocular pressure, dilation as needed
  • Diagnostic testing (OCT, Optos, VF, Oculus)
  • Assists with office flow for timeliness
  • Sterilizes and sets up instruments
  • Maintains instruments, including troubleshooting, cleaning
  • Organizes and stocks exam rooms 
  • Teaching first time contact lens patients on proper insertion and removal

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant working in a clinical or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (knowledge of Nextech MDI is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with slit lamp microscope, and basic patient work ups.
  • Working knowledge of the eye anatomy, retina disease, and ocular medications

Salary: $21-$24 per hour
